WE ARE THE HAGUE STREET ART

The Hague Street Art (THSA) is a new platform of the Aight Foundation which is dedicated to everything in the field of Street Art in The Hague. THSA promotes art in the public space, professionalises  and shows off young artists and prevents vandalism. THSA achieves this by employing artists for workshops, education projects, to link them to potential clients to artists and let them participate in exhibitions and events.

Subsidy

The Hague Street Art Support artists in carrying out their plans. In addition to advice, you can ask us for money for street art projects! For participation projects, the maximum amount is 1000,- EUR to ask, and for individual projects the maximum is 500, - EUR. Three times a year we will test all applications. If your project matches with The Hague Street Art, we will invite you for an interview at our office.

Please make sure that your project meets the following requirements:

  • THE PROJECT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH STREET ART
  • THE PROJECT HAS A SOCIAL OR INNOVATIVE CHARACTER
  • THERE'S A CLEAR BUDGET PLAN FOR THE PROJECT

ABOUT THE FOUNDATION

The Aight Foundation is a knowledge center in the field of hip hop and urban culture and wants to inspire and motivate, develop the talents of young people in the field of music, dance and visual art. This organization has acquired a position as an expert and pioneer in The Hague. Aight is based in the The Hague Hiphop Centre (H3C)  at the Fruitweg in The Hague. Aight is easily accessible and has a large network of community organizations, cultural venues and schools. Because of a mix of participants with social and cultural diversities Aight’s program encourages social cohesion. Aight considers the Hip-hop and street culture as a remedy for social problems. The organization offers advanced talent a springboard to a professional career in hip hop. For all hip-hop disciplines Aight facilitates from amateur to professional. The range of what Aight can offer is wide. Aight organises hip hop dance classes (aight Dance), DJ lessons, and rap recording sessions (aight Music) and Graffiti and Street Art Workshops (aight Visual).

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

The Aight Foundation is a non-profit organization that is primarily committed to the The Hague youth and students. Through hip-hop / urban education, participation projects and  festivals the youth are being triggered to develop their skills and talents. Hereby, they are often helped by professionals. Aight is composed of 50% volunteers and three FTEs and is regarded as "good practice" in the field of cultural entrepreneurship. Thus Aight is nearly 40% self-sufficient, and 100% of its merits are being used for the projects and her organization.
